Truck and van rental:-Hiring a van or truck is a great way to save money and retain full control over the timing of your move.

Some Rental companies may require you to be over 25 years old. We have found some which will rent to lower ages (22). If you qualify, why not post on the forum to find someone to split the cost with you. If you do not qualify, post a search on the forum for a driving partner.

You will need to establish how much you are taking. a typical students possessions can usually be carefully fitted into a courier van (2cu metres), but if you have any items of furniture this can quickly escalate. If there are 2 typical loads to take you will need a small transit(capacity 5cu metres,but if any one has a bed or sofa you will need a small box or luton van(from 12 cu metres). Be sure to consider and discuss your space requirements.

You should enquire about fuel consumption, work out the mileage, any costs relating to picking up and returning the vehicle, and in collecting from/delivering to your co-mover You should definitely take any damage waiver option- an accident would hopefully The hirer and co- mover should explore and agree to share these costs before making a committment.
