Remove the action parts of a grand piano for moving?
by Liza

Does the inside parts (keys and working section of dampers etc) have to removed, as well as the lid over the keys - all this to be carried seperately?
We are not moving far away.
This piano was transported by experts 2 years ago internationally, and the lid over the keys is still touching the bass notes.
I assume this is due to some sort of shift in the mechanism.
It is my intention to have it finally restored to its pre-shifting state of beauty; ie have this adjustment attended to (the touching of the notes) once we are finally settled in our new home.
My thoughts of removing the workings is so as not to incur any more damage.......
