Slash Removal companies costs by sharing the trip with another student
First, a message for removal companies:-
You can use these forums to source dual or multi drop work. For now, access to customer contact details is unrestricted. My limited experience of removal exchanges so far,has not been positive...
They have provided a way for large companies to sub contract for unattractively low rates.
The big firms have prospered, but the small guys have ended up with the crumbs. The all important customer has received no benefit at all.
Whereas this site puts the customer first by offering load sharing. This site will attract smaller moving firms who will enjoy increased profitability from these opportunities. Furthermore, your own advertising will already be bringing in enquiries for small moves. Many of these small enquiries cannot be converted into sales. This site will help you satisfy enquiries from your existing advertising.
Students:- Removal companies will be pleased to quote 2 or more students to take their loads in one trip.
The resulting groupage will slash your costs. you will not even have to be going to the same destination to benefit:-
somewhere en route will yield big savings. For example, 2 students moving from London going one to Newcastle, and one to Edinburgh, will enjoy a significant
enjoy a benefit. Of course the nearer the distance between the two pickups and then the two drop offs the better. In fact if you can possibly arrange for the removers to only pick up from, and then deliver to one point, you will maximise the saving.
Tip!-If you want to keep the cost down... you will need to persuade the removal company that you are doing as much as possible to
make their work easy. Get your load as near to the loading point as posible, and tell them you only need your things set down in the nearest convenient place.
If that means organising friends to help, well, that's what they're for!
Read my packaging page. Neatly packed and marked boxes are important:- you may be sharing the transport with other cargo.
use the student-movers-forum to post your moving dates and advertise for another student to share the cost.
