How to Remove the Legs of an 8 ft Straub Parlor Grand Piano
by Shirley

I can't see any bolts holding the legs on, could they possibly screw on?

Answer: There are a number of different ways the piano legs can be attached. Since there are no bolts, the legs could screw on particularly if they are round.
However...Legs may more usually be attached with some kind of male / female tapered fit and the leg will require knocking inwards with a soft mallet. Before attempting this, check to see if there is a 'stop': Your clue that the leg is not screwed on.
The 'stop' may consist of a small block of wood screwed to the inside of the leg, to prevent the leg moving inwards, or a wedge, again to the inside of the leg which may unscrew, in order to turn 90 degrees and so allow the leg to be tapped inwards.
Sometimes there is a wedge and wooden block, and the wedge needs tapping out.
Take time and think before you thump.
